Judith A. Belmont
Lora Shor
Celebrate Employee Learning Week, State of the Chapter address, Learning Leader Award, Volunteer Recognition, and presentation by Judy Belmont and Lora Shor.
Judy Belmont and Lora Shor, co-authors of "The Swiss Cheese Theory of Life" (which will be published in early 2010 ), will serve you some easily digestible self-help tips on resiliency to help you get through life's holes rather than be stuck in them! Swiss Cheese, with its characteristic holes, is a perfect analogy to life. Without the holes, there would be no Swiss, just as without life's setbacks, disappointments and challenges we would not be able to develop strength of character and our personal uniqueness. Despite the fact that we might wish our lives would be smooth and predicable like Cream Cheese or American, life is really more like the holey Swiss.
Judy and Lora's education and experience as licensed therapists as well as professional trainers and speakers (and members of the National Speakers Association) have given them the skills to make important life concepts easily understood -- and they do it in a light-heated and entertaining way! Judy and Lora are currently under contract for a three book series on The Swiss Cheese Theory of Life that will be out in early 2010. Please join them for this educational and enlightening presentation!

She has taught at local Universities and is an Author and Life Skills Trainer who speaks on a variety of personal and professional development topics that are geared towards helping people "get out of their own way." She is a member of the National Speakers Association.
***Career Management SIG: Salary Negotiation****
When: 4:30-5:30 pm, prior to Chapter meeting, same location
A salary negotiation is like a high wire act. You take back and forth steps across a delicate and touchy territory named $$$, your compensation. We will examine this high wire act from start to finish. My goal is to give you negotiation strategies and language, especially to respond to the question: How much did you make in you last position? This is the most common screening tool used by hiring teams to eliminate you from an interview. Kim Weissbein, VP Membership and Career Management Consultant
Note: Chapter members attend at no cost. Non members attend one meeting at no cost. Future attendance requires chapter membership.
The full program price may be charged for failure to notify us of cancellation at least 24 hours in advance of the event. Requests for refunds must be made in writing.
